All clinical trials conducted in India must be registered with the "Clinical Trial Registry - India." Trials conducted outside of India should be registered with the appropriate clinical trial registry of the respective country. Starting from January 2009, the Indian Council of Medical Research has recommended that all clinical trials submitted for publication must have a registration number, making it mandatory.
