Abstract

Mandibular third molar surgery is the most common surgery performed in the dental office. Mandibular third molar removal pertains to a number of complications that may be encountered intraoperatively or postoperatively. Fractures of the mandible at angle region are the most common complications following mandibular third molar surgery. Various surgeons have different views regarding such complications. The purpose of this article is to discuss the various causes and patterns of fracture occurring along with the ratio of such incidence.
